The company now known as
Atlantic Voice & Data Solutions
(AVDS) is incorporated.
The news and pop culture of near-
ly two decades ago has been relegated
to the trivia books, but AVDS is still
going strong. There have been a lot of
economic ups and downs over the
course of AVDS’ history, and certainly
many changes in technology. How did
the company manage to not only sur-
vive but thrive. Founder and president
Granville Triumph attributes much of
his success to a core foundation in cus-
tomer service.
“I work for the customer, and
everyone on my staff has that same
ethic,” Triumph said. “No one here
works for me or for Atlantic Voice &
Data. The company may be the conduit
to the customer, but the customer is the
reason why we are here.”
At Your Service
AVDS serves organizations of all
sizes — from small firms to Fortune
500 companies to government agencies
— within the five boroughs of New
York City. The company offers the
entire Avaya voice communications
product line, and has highly trained
staff who design, implement and sup-
port both voice and data applications.
AVDS’ staff of 16 functions as a
team, with checks and balances to
ensure the job is done right. First, an
account manager consults with the cus-
tomer, then a project manager develops
an implementation plan and brings in
technicians to handle the installation.
After the implementation, a post-sales
specialist is responsible for ensuring
that everything was completed to the
customer’s satisfaction.
“I actually have customers that
started with me the same year I went
into business,” Triumph said. “That’s a
great feeling.”
AVDS’ dedication to customer ser-
vice has actually been quantified by
Avaya. As an Avaya Silver BusinessPart-
ner, AVDS must maintain a high level of
satisfactory ratings in Avaya customer
satisfaction surveys.
AVDS is certified as a Minority
Business Enterprise by New York City,
the New York/New Jersey Port Author-
ity and the New York City School Con-
struction Authority, and is a member of
both the Manhattan and New York
City Chambers of Commerce.
