very organization wants to grow
yet growth can strain operational
resources if not handled proper-
ly. What good is adding staff if they
don’t have the tools they need to be pro-
ductive.
Family Services Network of New
York has certainly grown dramatically,
nearly tripling in staff in four years.
Luckily, however, the organization has
been able to scale its voice and data
communications systems as needed,
thanks to a long-time partnership with
Atlantic Voice & Data Systems (AVDS).
“We’ve been working with Atlantic
Voice & Data for several years now —
since 2001, I believe,” said Preston
Elliott, CFO of Family Services Net-
work. “They have been integral in see-
ing us through our growth. We now
have about 100 full-time staff members,
and Atlantic Voice & Data has made
sure each of them has the voice commu-
nications resources they need to work
effectively.”
In fact, Family Services Network
relies completely on AVDS for phone
system installation, maintenance and
support. The organization has one IT
staff member who serves as the liaison
with AVDS. However, AVDS handles all
the phone system moves, adds and
changes — and more.
“They have the know-how and
manpower we simply don’t have in-
house,” Elliott said. “They’ve never told
us there was any job that was too hard
to handle, or that we were asking for
the unreasonable. They’ve always been
able to take on our issues, address them,
and get them implemented in as short a
time as possible. It just doesn’t make
