re than ten years ago,
Granville Triumph, CEO
of Atlantic Voice and Data
Systems (AVDS), visited Services for the
Underserved to see if the agency needed
a phone system service provider. It did,
and that visit marked the beginning of a
decade-lon g r elation sh ip that’s still
going strong.
“Mr. Triumph came by to tell us
about the services his company pro-
vides, and I really liked his approach,”
said Melvin Turner, director of Facilities
Management for Services for the Under-
served (SUS). “At that time we had a
need for that type of service and I
believed in his ability to deliver. I said,
‘Let’s give them a try.’”
“I recall that meeting very well,”
Triumph said. “At that time, SUS was
working with the telephone company
for its telecommunications needs. Mr.
Turner was eager to make a change, but
naturally apprehensive. I simply did my
best to assure him that we not only had
the technical expertise but would pro-
vide superior service.”
AVDS did deliver as promised,
and the relationship between the two
organizations has not only lasted but
deepened over the years.
“They provide a large range of
services for us now, including data net-
work wiring as well as the ongoing
maintenance of our telephone systems,”
Turner said.
